My face seems to be a little swollen. I'm a little breathy. Tongue seems swollen. I will talk with the doctor today about that.

My darling Vinny died this Sunday morning at 6 am.
He was my best friend in the world, and I could not have raised my boys without him...to them he was Uncle/father/best friend all in one.
He fought to the end...his will to live defying the doctors, machines and doomsayers.
The funeral is on Wednesday in New Jersey...I am going to New York on Tuesday, you can reach me on my cell phone 310 871 8674.
This is the email he sent me, when defying doctors, nurses and social workers he returned to his beloved little home for one last time..with his trach and ventilator, stomach tube flapping, on his spindly little legs...still full of humour and mad plans for the future.
We were all blessed to have known him and to have had him in our lives.

"Caroline. I'm so happy to be home. You have no idea. It's 1:00AM and I had to do a breathing treatment and clean my inner canula. There aren't many people I can tell that to.
I love you for visiting me and spending time with me. For stroking my hair when I was unconscious and for just being a phone call away.
Tell the boys, I'm Looking forward to seeing them.

Monday - I have dialysis
Tuesday I have long meeting with respiratory person
Wednesday, i have dialysis
Thursday, I'm going to University of Penn Hospital to talk with dr. Ahya about lung transplant
Friday- I have dialysis.

I'm looking forward to the weekend. You'll be back soon.

Vin "
